We just got finished with our court case and have been asked to think about where I want the money to be paid. The choice is either direct deposit to my bank account, or a PA EPPI card-like a prepaid mastercard.

Have you ever used a card like that for payments you received regularly? Would you recommend it?

Ours goes direct deposit to my bank account. He never gave a reason for it, but the counsellor at our child support hearing strongly advised against the use of a card like that. When I looked at the paperwork there were fees for using it for just about everything-you could not make a cash withdrawal at all, any way, without paying a fee.

Yeah the fees were scaring me a little. I never saw the reason that I should pay to have someone let me have my money, when they are already making money with my cash through investments and so on. They get ya coming and going.

Since I'm a student, I get child support from my father still. I get the money on a card, because otherwise my mom's name would have to be on my account, and there's just no reason for it at this time.
