For me I think that unless they are used properly Loans are not the right answer. Of course for homes and cars, you may need a loan. But for vacations and other smaller priced things it is better to save for them then to get a loan. You can save the money you would pay in interest and have that much more.

I agree with lala about the usefulness of loans. I prefer to wait and pay for my purchases like vacations and home improvements rather than take out loans. Cars and home mortgage are the exception for me too however.
