I don't read too many of the current authors, except for Terry Pratchett's discworld books, but I love a lot of the older authors like Zelazny and Lieber. Anyone else into the fantasy/sf?

Tolkien is about my limit when it comes to fantasy . . not really into scifi

I grew up reading lots of SF. I think Robert Heinlein was one of my first authors in that genre and I liked him a lot. I find his writing hasn't stood the test of time, though.

I have to say that my favorite fantasy author is J.K Rowling. The Harry Potter series just takes me on a journey of fantasy and mystery.

I really like her writing, as well. She's very vivid and draws you right into the story. I'm looking forward to the last book in the series which should be out very soon.

I am not a big reader but have enjoyed some of the books mentioned by everyone else. I think that in the Harry Potter Series it will be interesting to see how it all turns out.
