I don't get as much time to read as I'd like to, though I am partial to a Tom Clancy novel. I also read a few bits and pieces from Chris Ryan and Dan Brown, but other than that I'm pretty much limited to the odd autobiography now and again. I think the only time I read seriously is when I'm on vacation sat beside the pool with an ice cold beer in one hand and a good book in the other My favourite book is Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy, though I don't think I'm yet to dislike anything of his yet. I have started looking into eBooks a little more seeing as more and more texts are being made available on the Internet, though I'm not the most cultured of scholars so few of them are to my tastes - They are great if you're into classical literature, though.

One of my favorite authors is Dave Pelzer. If you have never heard of him, he is a wonderful author that documents his life which was torn with instances of abuse from his mother, foster homes, and how the foster system changed his life. There are three books, which are A Child Called It, The Lost Boy, and A Man Named Dave. I had to read them in high school as an assignment over the summer. I could not put the books done because they were so interesting.

Well the last book I got was an audio book, I kind of liked it as an audio book. I could listen to it whenever I want. It was As a Man Thinketh by James Allen. I see you can download it at gutenberg.org As a Man Thinketh by James Allen - Project Gutenberg

My favorite author is Stephen King. A lot of people know him for his popular horror novels, but he also writes some fantasy works. I just started reading the Dark Tower series and I am already on the 3rd book in the set. These books combine fantasy with an aspect of horror and even Western, which many authors havn't tried before. Last edited by Exitium : 03-13-2007 at 09:11 PM.

I also love Pratchett and there was a time that I could claim to have read everything he had written. Not so now though, he just won't stop! I also love Douglas Adams and find him to be in a similar vein to Pratchett. Favourite book of all time is Down to a Sunless Sea by David Graham. Its a not so standard end of the world by nuclear war novel, and is absolutely gripping. Horrid twist at the end.

Ooooooooo. That sounds like my kind of book, Britjojo. I'll have to have a look for it. I often have end-of-civilization-as-we-know-it dreams and try to use them in my own writing, and I enjoy reading other takes on the theme.
