I don't usually like "women's fiction" but I love Maeve Binchy. I lived in Ireland for a couple of years when I was young (12-14) and I find her people to be so real and the settings and stories just come alive for me. I can read her books over and over again.

She's a good writer, but I can take her or leave her work. It's something I'll read if there's nothing else available.
