I'm on my local parish council and we're always looking for new ways to raise money for the parish. The high school started trivia contests a couple years ago and so I'm organizing one of those for either late summer or early fall. We do the yard sale thing, and the supper thing and a tea in the summer, but what other ideas does anyone have to bring people in?

Those are both fairly common around here for everybody who wants to raise money and are good ideas, but if you want something different, that trivia thing sounds good. How about a dance? Last edited by SerenBaker : 05-02-2007 at 11:33 AM.

A dance might be a good idea, too. I just have to find a decent band that can play a variety of music, but there are lots of downhome music makers around here. I could probably put something together. The Youth Group is doing a car wash, so that's done already. Raffles are always popular. Thanks, everyone. I appreciate all the suggestions. Here's to a profitable year!

My sister's elementary school received fundraising coupon books from a fast food restaurant and sold them for $5 each. I don't know how the school got the books or how much they paid for them. They did make a lot of money off of them though. Also, candy and cookie sales are probably the most profitable fundraising idea that I've been a part of. Candy is relatively cheap to buy, and sells for anywhere between $1 and $2.
