Default Have Clothing Sizes Changed?

A comment was made on another forum that I post on, that we can no longer use clothing sizes as a measure of correct weight, because in the last fifty years, clothing sizes have increased. The person suggested that a size 14 of fifty years ago would be today's size 10, so people think they are smaller than they are.

Any idea whether any of this is true?

I think it's true. The store that I shop at with the smallest clothes sizes is Old Navy. I think it just makes people feel skinnier than they actually are.
