I recently was involved in a creditcard fraud when I took my girl for a lunch in a fancy restaurant, I made payment using my credit card. In my next statement there was discrepancy with about 200$ being extra charged. Fortunatly I had the payment receipt with me for the same. I showed them the receipt and my entire extra amount was waived off and also I was awarded 100 spending points. Later it was found that the waiter had used my creditcard to withdraw 200$ from my account.

Did you report it to the police, or at least to the restaurant that you ate at? The guy should have been fired, so that he cannot do it to anyone else in future.

seems very dangerous thse days to give away your card to any stranger. They can note down the details like the expirydate and card number of your cc. they can then use it for online shopping and that is dangerous.
