I'd like to get a digital video camera, but they're still pretty expensive. I'll keep waiting for the prices to come down more, but it would be really cool to have.

They are not as expensive as they were a few years ago. I would wait until you find one that is within your price range and go from there. You may end up waiting a while if you are waiting for them to become really cheap. I would check out the auction sites or sales ad.

The prices for them have dropped quite low these days. You can think of getting a feature rich basic video camera in sub-500$ price range.
