Every month I'll get half of my salary and moved it to my savings account the remaining will be my budget for my expenses for the entire month, rent, food, transportation and night outs but Lately I havent been saving much. My new hobby is a bit exensive

I set aside about 10% of my income each month into a special long term saving account. I set aside another 20% of my income every month which I invest into the stock market and especially on shares of upcoming tech companies.

I put away like 200 every month or so. it all depends on what my finances are looking like.

I manage about 1% of my income for tax reasons, and all other savings are short term only right now. We need to get some major work done on the house, and I have dental work too needing done.

As a single mother, that's all I can cope with!

I try to put atleast $50 into savings every month, but I am a person that likes to spend it if I have it on me.

I think for most people just putting some in savings can end up being a big help. Because unless you are on a budget it is really pointless to try and save. Only the people who make a conscious effort to save really save. other may think they are saving and then spend it when they find something they think they want.

I really struggle with this. Each month it seems that I am down to the last few pennies by the time that pay day comes around. I need to change this, need to make some lifestyle changes so that I can put some rainy day money away, and get some in the bank for my child's college when the time comes.

If only.

Question Save? What's THAT?

I dream of the day I can set money aside! Right now I have fifty cents to my name, and don't get paid for another week! This is pretty typical for me, lately, as I have substantial medical expenses that my insurance doesn't cover. Sigh! Oops, I lied, I actually do save a little. I have an RESP for my daughter, to which I add $10/month.

I just completed my nursing degree and am waiting to sit for my State Boards but when I am working as a registered nurse I hope to really be able to put aside a significant amount toward savings. I'm also expecting my first baby right now so a lot of extra money is being spent on new baby stuff!
