We do a combination of crappie, catfish, bass, and trout fishing. If we get really hungry for fish, we'll go fishing for perch, which are the same thing as sunfish, or brim. My favorite to eat has to be trout. Fry them in oil and dip them in garlic butter to eat them.

Sounds nice - From an entertainment point of view I like perch fishing. They are fairly abundant, respond to almost any bait and are relatively easy to hook and land successfully. Bass fishing is a lot harder but is much more rewarding - Some fights can last for a good twenty or thirty minutes which is a little bit more challenging than the two minutes it usually takes to land a perch ![]()

My friend took me mackerel fishing last year and I actually caught a couple. He has also taken me out to catch smelts, which are horribly easy and require basically a bucket to catch them in. They're so good when they're right out of the water and into the pan.
