| I have a friend with diabetes. She manages it very poorly and as a result her insurance company has warned her that she is at such a huge risk for complications, that until she starts doing what she is told, she has to pay an extra $50 a month premium. This seems entirely reasonable to me, because I don't see why everyone else should pick up the tab for things that are avoidable. But is it a common thing? I've never heard of it before. |
